Mike Hopkins

Michael (Mike) Hopkins is known for the high quality of criminal defense work, whether serious felonies or DUI defense. This is reflected in his being named to Naples Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers” list for multiple years, as selected by fellow attorneys.

Mike began his legal career as a Florida prosecutor where he gained invaluable courtroom experience. He then spent over a decade working alongside longtime Naples criminal defense attorney Jerry Berry defending some of Southwest Florida’s most high profile criminal cases. Mike joined the Law Offices of Donald Day in 2022.

In addition to his criminal defense practice, Mike is active in the Florida Bar by serving on the Constitutional Judiciary Committee and Law Related Education Committee. Mike previously served as chairman of the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee for Collier County (20B), on the board of directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a past-president of the Collier County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mike is also a member of the Collier County Bar Association and Florida Bar Criminal Law Section. Mike also speaks to local schools and community groups about courts and Constitutional law topics.

Mike graduated (J.D.) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law-Bloomington. While there, he was awarded positions on the Moot Court Board, Moot Court Team, and Federal Communications Law Journal, due to excellence in legal argument and research/writing.
